Wilson Racing return to the UK to take on the challenge of the British Talent Cup with a three rider line up and a new title sponsor in Fwd Motion. FWD Motion is an experienced, full-service creative agency, specialising in boosting brands for global, national and local organisations. They have provided a completely new look for the 2020 Wilson Racing Moto3 machines. The Barnsley based team won the British Motostar standard class Moto3 title in 2017 with Max Cook, whilst last year they took to the podium in the ultra-competitive European Talent Cup. Restored to the BSB Paddock for 2020 they field a completely new rider line up. 17-year-old Josh Hiatt from Cannock has two year’s previous experience of a standard Moto3. European Talent Cup Valencia November 2018

On Saturday the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia was awash with warm sunshine although it took some time for the track to warm up. Qualifying The number of riders entered for the final round of the European talent Cup meant that qualifying had to take place in two separate groups. With the first group out at 08:45 immediately followed by the second at 10:25 the track was still cool. Scott Ogden and Jack Hart were included in the first group with Ogden finished 9th overall with a lap time of 1:46.822. Jack Hart set a time of 1:48.379 putting him 19th quickest, which was impressive as the young Scott had been sick during the morning. Max Cook went out next and his time of 1:46.671 placed him 14th in group B. Just after lunchtime the riders were back on the circuit. By now the temperatures had increased and lap times were falling. The British Motostar standard class season has now finished but you can still cheer on three of our riders in the final round of the British Talent Cup on the 16 – 18 November 2018 at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. Scott Ogden, Charlie Atkins and Jack Hart will again experience the MotoGP circus that traditionally ends the season in Valencia Spain. Whilst the circuit will be new to Ogden, Atkins and Hart rode there in 2017 in the European Talent Cup and spent a good part of the race battling against each other. All three riders will be hoping they have done enough to convince the organisers’ of the British Talent Cup they should be kept in the championship for 2019. The final round of the British Moto3 season proved to be a great one for Barnsley team Wilson Racing. In the first race Max Cook, the 2017 champion riding as a wildcard for his old team, took the race win from teammate Scott Ogden. The second became a race of attrition in poor conditions where Jack Hart was fourth, Osian Jones sixth and Charlie Atkins eighth. Qualifying Scott Ogden put in a superb last lap in qualifying to take pole position in the standard class with a time of 1:37.096. Max Cook would like up third. Charlie Atkins, was inside the top ten with 8th whilst Jack Hart, Jake Clark and Osian Jones were 13th, 16th and 19th respectively. Race One 31 riders from the GP and standard classes competed on the 2.4 mile Brands Hatch GP circuit over ten laps. Barnsley based Moto3 Wilson Racing took victory at round four of the Hel Performance British Motostar standard class championship. The team were racing at Brands Hatch in Kent and welcomed back 2017 championship winner Max Cook for a wildcard entry. Ogden took a win on the Saturday whilst reigning champions cook stood on the podium on Sunday. Fielding six riders at the event it was 14-year-old Scott Ogden that took the win in the first race and his first ever Moto3 victory in his first full season. At one stage Ogden had been more than three seconds behind the race leaders but put in a fantastic second half of the race to close up on the front-runners. Wilson Racing will be making their way to Oulton Park in Cheshire, for round two of the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship series, this weekend. After round one, wildcard entry and 2017 standard class Champion, Max Cook stood on the podium twice collecting 40 points. Scott Ogden came home sixth in his best race of the weekend and Charlie Atkins, Jack Hart and Jake Clark all scored points. This weekend Max will be on Red Bull Rookies duty and Osian Jones won’t be old enough to ride before the Knockhill round. That leaves four to fly the Wilson Racing flag this weekend. The first round of the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship got underway last weekend. 2017 Championship winning team Wilson Racing had five riders competing in the British Moto3 standard class series. Free practice The weekend started with mixed conditions for the two free practice sessions on Friday. In the first session, the riders were faced with a wet but drying track. Scott Ogden was the fastest of the team riders finishing second quickest. In the afternoon session the track had completely dried. Max Cook, who won the standard class title with Wilson Racing last season, was making a wildcard entry having gone on to the Red Bull Rookies this season. He ended the session in second this time. Qualifying On Saturday morning the sun shone for qualifying. This meant track conditions had changed significantly with the temperature of the circuit that much higher. Wilson Racing sealed the Hel Performance British Motostar Standard Class Championship title with rider Max Cook in 2017. It was an unbelievable season which saw Cook score an incredible 517 points. On his way to that tally, he registered twenty-two podiums and fifteen race victories. His nearest rival was a staggering 148 points behind in the standings. The season couldn’t have started better for Wilson Racing. Cook scored a victory in both the races in the opening round at Donington Park and went on to win seven consecutive races. He wrapped the championship up in the second race at Oulton Park meaning he did it with four more races still to go. Wilson Racing riders Max Cook and Charlie Atkins took part in the final round of the European Talent Cup over the weekend. Under clear blue skies the young riders got to enjoy the famous Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia and compete against some of the best young riders in Europe. European Talent Cup Valencia 2017 Qualifying Thirty seven riders took to the track during the first of two forty minute qualifying sessions. In the first of those Max Cook managed to record a lap time of 1:44.077 putting him fourteenth overall and 1.2 seconds behind the leading rider. Charlie Atkins was less fortunate as early in the session another rider went down the inside of the number 56 where there wasn’t a lot of room. Barnsley’s Wilson Racing Moto3 team were in action at the final round of the Hel Performance Motostar British standard class Championship last weekend. On the 2.4 mile GP track at Brands Hatch Max Cook took a third and a race victory. Charlie Atkins finished fourth in race one and joined his team-mate on the podium finishing third in race two. Jake Clark ended his rookie season with a tenth and an eighth. Free Practice There were two free practice sessions on the Friday.
