Wilson Racing came away from Snetterton with three points-scoring finishes. Cook bounced back from the two DNFs at Silverstone with a sixth and fifth position finishes. Luca Hopkins ended his first race in the pits after a racing incident but returned to the points finishing 14th in race two. Free Practice Team owner, Gary Wilson, spent most of the week between Silverstone and Snetterton rebuilding James Cook’s bike that took serious damage after he was knocked off by another rider in the last round. In fact, the team were still at work on the Moto3 machine on Thursday evening. When Friday free practice one got underway Cook managed 14th in FP1 and improved to finish 10th in FP2 as he regained some of his confidence with his Honda NSF 250. Wilson Racing continued their positive start to the British Talent Cup season with Ryan Hitchcock taking two top ten finishes, Josh Hiatt picked up his first championship points and James Cook recovered from electrical problems in race one to finish 11th in race two. Qualifying Friday had seen to very wind-blown free practice sessions. It was proving tough for the young riders on such light-weight machines both all three did well. Saturday morning the weather was bright but the wind was still strong for qualifying. James Cook was rewarded with a 12th place spot on the grid for race one after clocking a 2:08.939 lap time on his Honda Moto3. Ryan Hitchcock would line up 14th and Josh Hiatt 23rd. Race One All three riders made bright starts to the first British Talent Cup race of the weekend. Wilson Racing continue to lead the way

Barnsley’s Wilson Racing Moto3 team enjoyed another successful weekend at Snetterton competing in the fifth round of the Hel Performance Motostar British Standard Class Championship. Race One Motostar Snetterton 2017 Max Cook was looking to continue his fantastic winning streak in race one after setting the fastest lap time in qualifying. However, he was thwarted when another rider T-boned him in the first corner. Somehow he stayed on the bike but he ran on to the grass. He also found he was stuck in third gear. At the end of the first lap he pulled into the pits where the team quickly bent the quickshifter back into position. He’d lost over a minute on the leading riders but battled back for tenth place and six points. 14-year-old Charlie Atkins had qualified fifth and was looking to continue his good form from the last round that saw him score 24 points from the two races.
