WILSON RACING EVOLVE AND TAKE HUGE STRIDES FORWARD (DONINGTON PARK WEEKEND REPORT BY ISAAC HALL UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD SPORTS JOURNELISM STUDENT) As the sun beat down over Derbyshire, providing the historic Donington racecourse with near perfect conditions for a weekend of racing ahead, the Wilson Racing team prepared or the trials and tribulations that were yet to come over the course of what was set to be an action-packed event. The weekend started rather promisingly for the boys in blue, with the majority of the riders turning up for some much-needed exhilaration following their all-important exams, the first and only trip out onto the track for Friday got underway as the team went out for their first practice session. Round 2 of the 2024 British Talent Cup was held at Donington Park GP Circuit last weekend between the 17th – 19th May, with more points scored by the Wilson Racing team securing Harrison a championship position just outside of the top 10 after the weekend in 11th, down by 71 points from championship leader Lucas Brown. Free practice and qualifying. Friday and what is usually a day filled with 2 free practice sessions, this week would host only Free Practice 1 due to a large majority of the British Talent Cup riders participating in their GCSE’s Friday day, which meant a late start Friday with an early start to follow on Saturday. Friday 5pm and the riders took to the 2.4875-mile circuit to complete their first free practice session of the round. Season opener at Circuito de Navarra for the BTC

2 days of testing followed by a shortened 2-day race weekend led to a full action-packed weekend of riding and racing for the Barnsley based Wilson Racing team, in the opening round of the 2024 British Talent cup! The weekend would hold play to 3 races with a potential 75 points up for grabs. Testing was held over Thursday and Friday with a total of 5 40-minute sessions to take advantage of. As the riders headed out for lap 1 of the first session the weather turned and rain started to fall, all riders made their way back to the pits but unfortunately Iwan got caught out in the rain and was the first rider down of the weekend for the Wilson Racing team after falling at turn 3. Our youngest rider Sam Gardner took part in his first official test for his rookie year in the ESBK Moto 4 class at Jerez over the weekend. For Sam's first time riding against his rivels he proved a very strong rider and managed to improve every session. He has impressed the whole team proving he has the speed to keep up with riders who have been in the class for a few seasons. Here are some of Sam's thoughts on how the weekend went. Season finale at Donington Park!

A mix of weather conditions this weekend led to mixed results for the Wilson Racing riders as they competed in the final round of the 2023 British Talent Cup! With Race 1 being dry it would lead to some strong results with Harrison finishing in 7th, Ben in 13th, Samual in 24th, and an unfortunate DNF for Sully as he got tangled up in an incident it was all to play for in Race 2. Race 2 and the weather had changed, from sunny and dry on Saturday to heavy rain just before the session it would prove a difficult race for some of the Wilson Racing riders. Harrison crossed the line in 24th after having fogging issues with his visor, Ben had a DNF as he highsided up the hill coming out of Starkey’s but luckily walked away after only being winded, Samuel took home a 22nd, and Sully crossed the line in 2nd to allow him to claim...

Wilson Racing continue strong at Oulton Park for round 8 of the British Talent Cup!

A stunning weekend by the Barnsley based Wilson Racing as they completed round 8 of the 9-round series at Oulton Park this past weekend. With lots of positives and points scored it turned out to be a great weekend for all. Sullivan bringing it back with a 1st in race one followed by a 2nd in race 2 coming only 0.006 seconds behind race winner Amanuel. Harrison managed to gain himself more points this weekend finishing race 1 in 7th and race 2 in 8th. Ben pushed hard this weekend however had an unfortunate DNF in race 1 followed by an 18th in race 2. Finally, the Wilson Racing wildcard for the weekend Greg managed a 23rd place finish in the first race followed by a respectable 26th in race 2. Free practice and Qualifying. Another great weekend had by all at Wilson Racing with more points gained and riders on form, the mixed conditions of the weekend proved for some great racing. Sullivan walked away with a 1st in race 1 and a 3rd in race 2, Harrison back in the points with a 10th in race 1 and a 5th in race 2 and Ben pushing hard to learn the tricky track coming home with 19th in race 1 and 16th in race 2. Free practice and qualifying. Free practice 1 on Friday would see the riders head out on track with favourable dry conditions. This was to be Bens first experience of this fast-flowing track with no previous experience here he would have to learn it quickly. Warm, Wet and Wild weekend for Wilson Racing at round 6 of the British Talent Cup at Silverstone Moto GP.

A brilliant weekend at Moto GP saw some massive highs for the Barnsley based Wilson Racing team as they competed in the 6th round of the British Talent Cup. This round would prove difficult for riders with massively changing weather conditions, from dry to wet and back to dry again this fast and tricky circuit would take skill and courage to beat. Sullivan Mounsey would take his 3rd win of the season in a very wet race 1, with Harrison managing to bring home another top 10 finish in race 2, and Ben finishing 13th in race 2 in his debut appearance at this event. Double podium at Brands Hatch for Wilson Racing!!

Sullivan Mounsey rode two fantastic British Talent Cup races at Brands Hatch last weekend for Barnsley’s Wilson Racing team. He took first place in the first race and narrowly missed second in race two finishing only 0.107 seconds behind Harley McCabe. Teammates Ben Jolliffe and Harrison Mackay also rode great races battling hard for all some important championship points. Harrison crashing out of race one would go on to take 14th place in race 2, and Ben Crossed the line with his best finish of the season in race 1 coming across in 10th position, and would finish race 2 in 12th.
