Josh Hiatt was one of three riders that joined Wilson Racing at the beginning of the 2020 season. Here are his thoughts of the season just ended.
“The 2020 season wasn’t the easiest due to my neck problems, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity and would like to thank everyone at Wilson Racing for the help this season, as they helped out in every way possible. With the shortened season we didn’t end up going to my favourite track Knockhill. However, I really enjoyed riding Brands Hatch due to the changes in elevation and flow of the track, which made it very enjoyable to ride on the moto 3 bike.
Another thing that I’ve enjoyed this year is learning more about the technical side of the bike, the changes that can be done to the bikes and the effects which they have on the bike. Working with Ian by watching track-side and going through data has also helped me to understand how the bike needs to be ridden.
My favourite part of the season was going out to Spain for pre-season testing. It was great to ride Jerez one of the best tracks in the world, and then to head to Cartagena for more track time. This was a great experience as it was the first time I’d ever been to Spain for pre-season testing. Once again I’d like to thank everyone at Wilson Racing for everything they’ve done for me this season, I am really thankful.
