James Cook crashed out in race one at Luffield having just taken the lead before finishing tenth in race two. Luca Hopkins came across the line in 14th in the first race and then went on to pick up another championship point for fifteenth in the second race. Cook is 7th in the championship standings on 135 points and rookie Hopkins is in 21st place with 21 points. Free Practice and Qualifying FP1 was wet and with the forecast suggested the rest of the weekend would be dry the Wilson Racing riders decided to stay in the garage for the first 30-minute session. In FP2 Hopkins and Cook were keen to get some track time but just three laps into the session the rain began to fall again proving that the British weather is unpredictable as ever. Wilson Racing rookie, Luca Hopkins made a positive finish to the British Talent Cup MotoGP weekend at Silverstone with a 13th place in race two. James Cook showed podium pace throughout the two races but failed to finish both after being brought down but through no fault of his own. Free Practice and Qualifying The number 43 of James Cook put together a solid start to the weekend after qualifying in tenth position on Friday afternoon. Luca Hopkins also made fine progress on day one. Having been 29th at the end of free practice one he went on to end the day qualifying seven places higher in 22nd. Race One The British Talent Cup riders had to wait until 16:30 for their next track action on the Saturday. Successful first official BSB test completed at Silverstone

All three of the teams riders were at Silverstone today for the one day opening pre-season test of the season. James Cook managed to end the day in 3rd position overall with a best lap time of 1:02.728 coming in the final session of the day. Ryan Hitchcock clocked a 1:03.024 on the National circuit which placed him fourth overall at the close of play. Rookie Luca Hopkins also impressed. Successful Silverstone for Wilson Racing

Wilson Racing completed another confident weekend in the championship at Silverstone last weekend. James Cook battled in the leading group of riders finishing with two sixth places and Ryan Hitchcock knew came through the encounter with an 8th and 7th place finish. They now stand 9th and 10th respectively in the championship in their rookie season. Qualifying Ryan Hitchcock posted a 1:03.096 which was the seventh fastest lap time in qualifying. Team mate James Cook had improved significantly in free practice on Friday and finished the second session fourth quickest. Unfortunately, the thirteen-year-old was unable to repeat that in qualifying and started the race from fourteenth position. A podium for Ogden and Wilson Racing at Silverstone

Scott Ogden was involved in an intense eight rider battle for victory in the second race of the Hel Performance British Motostar Moto3 championship. Riding for the Barnsley Wilson Racing team the 15-year-old secured third spot and was only 0.191 seconds from the race victory. The team also saw top ten finishes for Jack Hart and Charlie Atkins, a point for Jake Clark and some great continued development for the young Osian Jones. Qualifying The 30-minute qualifying session took place in drizzle on the 1.6-mile national circuit. Scott Ogden put in an impressive session finishing fourth just four thousandths of a second from a top three. Jake Clark finished tenth doing well in the wet, with Charlie Atkins 15th , Jack Hart 19th and Osian Jones 21st. Race One Jack Hart had a fantastic race. The Barnsley Moto3 racing team of Gary Wilson completed a rewarding weekend at Silverstone in the Hel Performance Motostar British Championship. Max Cook took a second and a first, Charlie Atkins had a fifth and a seventh, whilst Jake Clark had two top ten finishes. This round saw riders from the North European standard class Moto3 championship invited to compete. Although racing at the same time they were scoring points in their own championship. Free Practice The rain affected both free practice sessions on Friday. It fell continually in the morning session. This year the Motostar riders have only had one wet session this year so conditions were difficult. In the afternoon the conditions had improved with the Wilson Racing riders facing a drying track.
